While steps to the beach and a short walk to local dining and shopping, Driftwood Cottage is also within a block of Carolina Beach Lake Park, an 11-acre freshwater lake, where there is a lovely walking trail surrounding the lake, children's story walk, paddleboats, and a summer farmers' market. If you choose to dine-in, you can pick-up local produce or prepared meals made with North Carolina farmed fruits and vegetables, from the family-owned Veggie Wagon, just a block away. Enjoy an evening stroll on the vintage Carolina Beach Boardwalk. After Memorial Day, the town hosts beach fireworks every Thursday night, which can be seen from the deck or the sandy beach steps away.

Driftwood Cottage, Unit 1D in the Sands III Complex has an outdoor shower and shallow pool, making it an excellent spot for teaching children to swim. The home has two reserved outdoor parking spaces.
